NIBM 2024: Exploring AI Opportunities and Challenges in the Netherlands-India Corridor

The Artificial Intelligence (‘AI’) revolution has recently arrived in our world and is impacting all of us.

For businesses it is no longer a question whether AI will fit into their business but more how they can realign their organization to fully capture its transformational value. In today’s environment AI is key to automating, accelerating and enhancing key business processes to help transform at scale and drive value.

The AI revolution will also have a significant impact on our workforce where for example in a digital workspace in future human creativity is augmented by the use of (Gen) AI.
Governments and regulatory bodies across the world are implementing regulations to cover IT, data, privacy and compliance risks. For example, the EU parliament recently passed the AI act with aim to regulate AI applications based on their risk and to provide clear requirements and obligations to developers and deployers. These regulations are expected to have significant impact.

The AI revolution will also have an impact within the India – Netherlands corridor and poses both opportunities and threats.
The Netherlands is uniquely placed in the labour market with its international profile and large pool of knowledge workers. However several challenges are ahead including an aging population, a lack of technology skills and a lack of education infrastructure to quickly re-skill people.
The Indian economy is recognized as one of the fastest growing economies in the world including a thriving technology sector and known for its outsourcing and off-shoring capabilities.

In relation to the AI revolution, several key questions are relevant to address, for example:
– How will the AI revolution impact the value proposition of the shared services industry in India
– What is the impact of regulations imposed in India and in the EU?
– What is the impact of AI on the workforce in both countries?

These key questions will be addressed during the NIBM 2024 with theme ‘Opportunities and Threats of AI in the Netherlands-India corridor’
