Kansen voor Nederlandse bedrijven
India is een van de snelst groeiende economieën ter wereld met meer dan 1,4 miljard inwoners. Het land biedt veel kansen dankzij:
- een strategische ligging;
- sterke economische groei (8,2% in 2023–2024);
- overheidsinitiatieven zoals Make in India en Sagarmala;
- een groeiende handelsrelatie met Nederland.
Daarnaast wordt er ook gewerkt aan een vrijhandelsverdrag tussen India en de EU. Dit biedt nog meer zakelijke kansen.
Voor wie?
De missie is voor Nederlandse bedrijven, start-ups, scale-ups en kennisinstellingen die actief zijn in:
- tuinbouw en zuivel: toekomstbestendige voedselsystemen
- maritieme sector
Waar gaat u naartoe?
- tuinbouw en zuivel: Bangalore en Delhi
- maritiem: Mumbai
Er zijn aparte programma's voor de tuinbouw/zuivel missie en de maritieme missie. Deze programma's zijn, behalve de gezamenlijke kick-off in Nederland, volledig sectorspecifiek.
De missie staat onder leiding van Hanneke Boerma, staatssecretaris voor Buitenlandse Handel. Voor de maritieme sector is Robert Tieman, minister van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat, de zakelijk missieleider. Voor de tuinbouw- en zuivelsector is dit Guido Landheer, plaatsvervangend directeur-generaal Agro.
Focus: tuinbouw & zuivel
De missie is interessant voor bedrijven die op zoek zijn naar zakelijke kansen in:
- tuinbouwtechnologie
- uitgangsmaterialen
- zaadsector
- groenten- en aardappelopslag
- verwerking en verpakking
- zuivelsector (van boerderij tot verwerking)
- oplossingen voor efficiënt waterverbruik
- vermindering van het gebruik van pesticides
- duurzame verhoging van productie
De afgelopen jaren heeft de Nederlandse ambassade in New Delhi zich sterk ingezet voor samenwerking met India op het gebied van landbouw en tuinbouw. Daarom is er een Combitrack gestart, die zich vooral op bedekte teelt richt. Hierin wordt Nederlandse kennis en technologie getoond. Ook wordt er gewerkt aan betere regels, zoals bescherming van kwekersrechten.
Op verzoek van India helpt de ambassade ook bij het opzetten van Centers of Excellence voor tuinbouw, aardappels en bloemen. Er is veel vraag naar Nederlandse oplossingen zoals zaden, machines, glastuinbouw en slimme logistiek. Ook is er behoefte aan kennis over bedrijfsvoering, marketing en internationale handel.
Daarnaast heeft India ook een grote veeteeltsector. De zuivelsector van India is de grootste ter wereld, maar er liggen veel kansen in efficiëntie en verduurzaming. De ambassade heeft hier een sectorstudie naar uitgevoerd en werkt mee aan een trainingscentrum in Bangalore. Hier leren boeren hoe een modern zuivelbedrijf volgens Nederlands model werkt.
Conceptprogramma: tuinbouw & zuivel
Focus: maritiem
De missie is interessant voor bedrijven die op zoek zijn naar zakelijke kansen in:
- ontwikkeling van groene en digitale zee-corridors
- groene waterstofcorridor
- ontwikkeling van binnenwateren, inclusief natuurgebaseerde oplossingen en riviertechniek
- wereldwijde handelsweerbaarheid, inclusief maritieme veiligheid en cyberbeveiliging
- capaciteitsopbouw
Nederland en India werken steeds nauwer samen, zakelijk en op beleidsniveau. India heeft baat bij de Nederlandse kennis van havens, binnenwateren, baggeren, logistiek en groene scheepvaart. Samen bouwen bedrijven uit beide landen aan slimme havens, sterke kusten en moderne schepen. Digitale technologie speelt daarbij een steeds grotere rol. Cybersecurity is belangrijk voor veilige en toekomstbestendige havens.
Beide landen investeren in de blauwe economie en duurzame infrastructuur. Maritieme samenwerking wordt de komende jaren dus steeds belangrijker.

De kosten zijn € 950 per organisatie. Er kunnen maximaal 2 personen per organisatie mee.

Separate programmes are organised for the horticulture/dairy mission and the maritime mission. Apart from the joint kick-off event in the Netherlands, all programmes are entirely sector-specific.
The mission will be led by Hanneke Boerma, State Secretary for Foreign Trade. For the maritime sector, Robert Tieman, Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, will be the business mission leader. For the horticulture and dairy sectors, this will be Guido Landheer, Deputy Director-General for Agro.

In recent years, the Netherlands Embassy in New Delhi has worked extensively with India on agriculture and horticulture. This has led to the launch of the Combitrack initiative, focusing primarily on protected cultivation, showcasing Dutch expertise and technology, and promoting better regulations such as plant breeders’ rights.
At India’s request, the Embassy is also supporting the establishment of Centres of Excellence for horticulture, potatoes, and flowers. There is high demand for Dutch solutions such as seeds, machinery, greenhouse cultivation, and smart logistics, as well as expertise in business operations, marketing, and international trade.
India also has a large livestock sector. Its dairy industry is the largest in the world, but there is significant potential for improvements in efficiency and sustainability. The Embassy has conducted a sector study and is collaborating on a training centre in Bangalore, where farmers learn how to run a modern dairy farm following the Dutch model.

The Netherlands and India are strengthening their cooperation both commercially and at policy level. Businesses from both countries are working together on smart ports, resilient coastlines, and modern vessels, with digital technology playing an increasingly important role. Cybersecurity is essential for safe and future-proof ports.
Both countries are investing in the blue economy and sustainable infrastructure. Maritime cooperation will therefore become even more important in the years ahead.
