15 - 18Dec2020

CII is organising the CII Partnership Summit - CII’s Annual Flagship Event - from the 15 - 18 December 2020 on a Digital Platform. Mr Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Railways and Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India is the Chair of the Summit. Mr Uday Kotak, President CII and Managing Director & CEO, Kotak Mahindra Bank is the Co-Chair of the Summit. The theme of the Partnership Summit this year is “PARTNERSHIPS FOR LIVES, LIVELIHOOD AND GROWTH”.

Global partnerships have never been more critical than at the current moment when the Covid-19 pandemic and resultant economic and social fallout grips the world. The CII Partnership Summit was instituted in 1995 to understand and analyse such global economic challenges and identify and structure partnerships between nations to address these. As the Indian economy grew to leadership position following structural economic reforms over the years, The Partnership Summit emerged as a key platform attracting global and Indian thought-leaders to reinforce partnerships in trade, investments, sustainability, technology and other areas of interest to economies and businesses.

This edition of the Partnership Summit is very special as CII marks its 125 years this year. CII was initiated as an industry-led association in 1895 and since then, it has evolved as an organisation closely aligned with India’s development trajectory, with over 9,000 industry members from across India, including multinational corporations, large, small and medium enterprises and public sector enterprises. Through affiliated industry associations, CII reaches out to over 300,000 enterprises across all sectors pan-India.

Under the overall theme of “Partnerships for Lives, Livelihoods and Growth”, this year’s Summit would capture perspectives of leading experts from the major tracks of discussion, which are economy and finance, geopolitical and strategic developments, international trade and multilateralism, investments, technology disruptions, socio-cultural and sustainability aspects, and cooperation in healthcare. Plenary and parallel sessions on these themes would be conducted to address some of the most pressing issues during these times. There would also be very facilitative framework for business to business connects. An outline of the proposed programme is enclosed for your ready reference: Partnership Summit 2020 - Programme Outline
