Acting in accordance with these public health guidelines and advisories issued by The World Health Organisation and governments in most nations, we have made the decision to postpone POWERGEN India, Indian Utility Week & DISTRIBUTECH India, originally due to stage on 23-25 June 2020, until January 2021, with new dates to be confirmed, subject to formal venue confirmation.
The Indian power sector is undergoing noteworthy changes that have redefined the industry’s outlook for the next decade. Sustained economic growth and Government of India’s focus on attaining ‘Power for all’ continues to drive electricity demand in India. To be able to meet this surging demand and provide cleaner, cheaper and more reliable access to power, hundreds of billion dollars of investment in infrastructure and technology are required. Starting with additional generation capacity, flexible and more efficient transmission and distribution network and energy efficiency measures for both large and residential customers. Finally to minimize the forecasted increase in peak demands and reduce the overall carbon footprints, energy efficiency measures need to be implemented across industries including buildings and production facilities.
These smart, more decentralized, and yet more connected power systems will help in achieving the country’s objectives of security of supply, environmental sustainability, & better asset utilization, opening new business frontiers for both domestic and international companies in the development and financing of generation and transmission assets, engineering services, equipment supply, technology partnerships and clean coal technologies etc.
As part of Clarion Energy’s world’s leading power generation & smart energy event series organised across USA, Europe, China, South East Asia, Australia & African markets, the 17th edition of POWERGEN India co-located with Indian Utility Week & DISTRIBUTECH India; covering the entire end-to-end value chain of power generation, distribution and digital transformation industries, offers a unique platform to explore opportunities in this exciting “Indian Energy Transition”.
As India's premier forum for the power generation industry for over 15 years covering all forms of power generation, from conventional to renewable energy and other low-carbon options, POWERGEN India also recognises the vital role flexible generation is playing in the energy transition and the trends towards distributed generation, making it the hub for expertise, technology, and business opportunities whilst also being the nexus of knowledge for the energy transition.
The combined event will also include a Hosted VIP Buyer Program as part of Global Power & Energy Elites, whilst the renowned Initiate! program originating from European Utility Week will be introduced to India providing an incubating platform for startups, students, young professionals and established professionals to share ideas and innovations.
Featuring attendees from influential power producers, utilities, governments and solution providers, the combined event will showcase the future of a decarbonising and converging energy industry. Whether it’s the optimisation of existing assets, the exploration of fresh opportunities or the development of new businesses based on digital technologies, this is an event that ensures the participants remain in the industry vanguard.
