We are pleased to inform you that the Embassy of India, in association with the Wageningen University & Research (WUR), will be organizing a "Superfood Day" as part of the celebrations of the International Year of Millets 2023. As you may be aware, the United Nations has declared the year 2023 as the International Year of Millets. The Ambassador of India to the Netherlands H.E. Mrs. Reenat Sandhu and the President of the Executive Board of WUR Dr. Sjoukje Heimovaara will be the keynote speakers. Dr. Ramesh Chand, Member - National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog) (rank of Union Minister of State in India), will be visiting the Netherlands specially for this event as Guest of Honour and would also be speaking. A number of companies in the millets' sector will be displaying their products.
The programme will be held on May 1, 2023, at the Omnia Auditorium Building 105, Hoge Steeg 2, 6708 PH Wageningen. This is located at the Wageningen University Campus. The timings will be from 16.00-17.30 hours.
Visitors will be informed about the nutritional and health benefits of millets, millet products available in the Netherlands and also be able to taste some of these products.
