Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) is organizing Waterways Conclave 2022 on 11th-12th April in Dibrugarh, Assam.
The conclave is focused on harnessing the domestic and international potential of waterways ecosystem in the Northeastern region of India and will be held in physical and hybrid format. FICCI is the industry partner for the same.
Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Hon’ble Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways and AYUSH, Government of India will be inaugurating the Conclave on 11th April 2022 at 10:00 am.
In line with the goals of PM Gati Shakti National Masterplan, Waterways Conclave aims to fast-track the development of Multimodal projects in Northeast region for energizing economic activities and enhance business opportunities and employment generation.
Waterways Conclave 2022 will be attended by various stakeholders in the waterways ecosystem such as Policy Planners, Senior Government Officials, Domestic and International Investors, Sector Experts, Infrastructure players, Vessel Owners and Operators, Cruise Tourism industry, Cargo Passengers, Representatives of Major Ports well as the Governments of Maritime States in India. There is a significant potential to increase our bilateral trade and investment through collaboration in the waterway ecosystem. We hope that this conclave will open new avenues for cooperation in waterways sector between the nations.
