The Embassy of India, The Hague and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) invite you to a Webinar on “India: Economic Outlook 2020-2021 with a focus on the Indian Government's Covid-19 Economic Stimulus package” to be held on 26 June 2020 (Friday) from 10 AM to 11 PM CET/Netherlands Time (1.30 PM to 2.30 PM IST).

 

In the backdrop of the Covid-19, India has been forecasted to be one of the fastest growing nations in 2020, with a growth rate of 1.9% projected by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2020 and 7.4% in 2021. In May 2020, the Indian Government has announced a major stimulus policy amounting to 10% of India’s GDP focussing on Land, Labour, Liquidity and Laws.  The webinar will discuss the prospects for the Indian economy in 2020-2021 against the backdrop of the Economic Stimulus package.

 

Ambassador of India to the Netherlands, Mr. Venu Rajamony will lead the discussion with Mr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). Ms Bidisha Ganguly, Chief Economist, CII will make a presentation on the Reform measures undertaken. CII is India’s leading industry organization, having 9,100 members from the private as well as public sectors, including SMEs and MNCs and the presentation will be from an industry perspective. The Speakers will focus on the prospects for trade, commerce and investment in India in 2020-2021, including for foreign investors and business opportunities.
