Vidhya Sampath
Host of the Day 

Vidhya Sampath is the European head of Public Affairs and External Relations at Tata Consultancy Services. Prior to this position, she served as TCS’ head of marketing in the Benelux in a period that saw exceptional growth. Vidhya was the Director of the Europe India Institute at Nyenrode Business University in its foundation period. Through her own consultancy, she has advised several leading organisations in Netherlands on business collaboration with India and has orchestrated high-level missions to India.

Vidhya serves on board of the Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce and Trade. She is a trustee of the Foundation for Critical Choices for India and has served in the India Working Group of the Holland Finance Centre. She serves on the India Table of the Industrieele Groote Club, a prestigious business club/ network in Amsterdam.

Vidhya enjoys learning new languages, travelling and is an avid and eclectic reader.


Jan Hommen
Chairman, KPMG Netherlands 

Jan Hommen is Chairman of KPMG Netherlands. Mr. Hommen has over 40 years’ experience in the top of the Dutch Business. He was CEO of ING Group, Executive Vice President & CFO and Vice Chairman of Philips N.V. and CFO of Alcoa (global leader in lightweight metals technology, engineering and manufacturing) in the United States.

In 2013 Mr. Hommen has been promoted to Commander of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
Marten van den Berg
Deputy Director General Foreign Economic Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Marten van den Berg studied Economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
His first entry into public life was as senior policy advisor General Technology Policy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. In 1995, he was Deputy Chairman of the Working Group Technology Transfer at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

In 1996, he was appointed Adjunct Secretary General at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and in 1998 as Deputy Director of Spatial Economic Policy.

In 2001, he was appointed Economic Minister at the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Washington.
In 2004, he returned to the Ministry of Economic Affairs as Deputy Director General of Foreign Economic Relations and in 2008 he was also appointed Director of Economic Diplomacy.

In 2012, the Directorate General for Foreign Economic Relations became part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and since then he has been acting as Deputy Director General Foreign Economic Relations. 


H.E. Mr. Rajesh Nandan Prasad
Ambassador of India to The Netherlands 

Rajesh Nandan Prasad joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1980. He has served in the Indian Missions in Cairo, Jeddah, Riyadh, Jakarta, Geneva, Algiers (as Ambassador), Accra (as High Commissioner), and London (as Deputy High Commissioner). At Headquarters, he has headed the Central Europe and Europe West Divisions and served in the Multilateral Economic Relations Division and in the Office of the Minister of State for External Affairs.

He has a Masters Degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics.


 René Boender

Brain-Agent, Author, Speaker

Diederik Fetter

Diederik Fetter received his BA degree from the Nyenrode Business University and his MBA degree from the IESE Business School – University of Navarra.

Mr. Fetter has over 15 years’ experience in Managing Director positions. He was Managing Director of Roto Smeets, Flint Ink and Airpack Polska Sp.z o.o.

David Moore

International Business Development Manager Russia, India, MENA, SPAR International

David Moore is responsible for International Retail Business Development at SPAR International. Primary responsibilities include the integration of new partners into SPAR worldwide, the growth of SPAR in Russia, the Middle East and India. Most recently, the brand was launched in Georgia and a licence granted for development of the brand in the Indian market. Together with the team in Amsterdam, David seeks new market entry possibilities.

David is married with two children and is based in the UK. A post graduate qualified FMCG general and multi-site retail professional, educated at Manchester Metropolitan University.

A proven track record of 30 years in senior leadership positions within major chains in the UK and the construction industry. Specialist areas include organisational design, retail projects and store operational best practice.


 Peter Zonneveld

Managing Director, Danieli – Corus

Peter Zonneveld is a Mechanical Engineer by heart and graduated at the University in Beverwijk, The Netherlands in 1975, in the same year he started his career path as Mechanical designer at Hoogovens Steelplant in IJmuiden also The Netherlands. In 1976 he was part of the commissioning team, starting-up the first Continuous Caster in Europe at the Hoogovens LD shop. Following that, he moved on to various positions at Estel Technical Services, ESTS, Hoogovens Technical Services, which since 2000 is known as Danieli Corus.

He worked himself through the ranks from Engineer to Project Manager, Division Manager, Operations Director into Managing Director. He was CEO of Hoogovens Technical Services USA from 1991 until 1996 in which he also worked one year in Mexico, as Director Capital Spending for the Modernization of Mexican AHMSA. Since 2000, he is taking the position as MD at Danieli Corus. By his own words, a self-made, as of yet humble person, with a passion for Iron & Steelmaking.


 Huib Smit

Commercial Director, Allround Vegetable Processing

Allround was founded in 1955 and is a family owned company.

Huib Smit is Commercial Director of Allround Vegetable Processing BV and Allround India. He is responsible for the commercial and marketing activities in the Netherlands and India. He initiates new developments and explores new markets. Mr. Smit also has over 13 years’ experience in the flower bulb industry. Currently Allround offers a full product range for vegetables and potatoes. Consisting of field equipment. Loading and unloading machinery, storage solutions and processing machines. With dealerships in over 45 countries Allround sells worldwide. In 2007, Allround decided to start production of machines in Ambala City, Haryana, India. At first, the machines produced in India were the same as in Holland, but in 2008 a complete range of new products was developed specifically targeting the Indian market. At the moment, Allround also exports these machines produced for the India market to the southern hemisphere of the world. In February 2015 a new 5500 square meter factory we will opened.

Ram Lakhina
Founder and Chairman, Netherlands India Chamber of Commerce and Trade (NICCT)

Ram Lakhina holds B.A. (Honours) degree from the University of Delhi in India and M.A. (Economics) degree from the University of Minnesota in USA. He is an entrepreneur by profession and has been involved in international commerce for more than 35 years. He has been espousing the interests of Non-resident Indians (NRIs) and People of Indian Origin (PIOs) for more than 30 years. He was the first Chairman of the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) from 1994 until 2002. In 1980, he co-founded the Foundation for Critical Choices for India (FCCI) to mobilize the intellectual and material resources of NRIs and PIOs for India’s development. He was the President of the FCCI for many years and is now its President Emeritus. He is also the Chairman of the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Foundation Amsterdam. He is a co-founder and Secretary of the World Forum for Ethics in Business (WFEB). In January 2009, the President of India conferred upon Ram Lakhina, Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award for his valuable contribution in promoting the honour and prestige of India and in fostering interests of Overseas Indians. In September 2009, Her Majesty, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, has knighted Ram Lakhina for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Indo Dutch cooperation. The publishers of ’the Indian”, have named Ram Lakhina as one of the “100 Global Indians-luminaries, achievers and entrepreneurs”.
