Lilianne Ploumen
Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation
In 1983, while still at university, Lilianne Ploumen became a community outreach worker in the Crooswijk area of Rotterdam. Two years later she joined the Institute of Psychological Market Research (IPM), working in the statistics department and as a research project leader. IPM focuses on research-based consultancy.
In 1995 she founded Ploumen Projecten, an organisation specialising in market research and innovation for commercial and non-profit clients. In the same year she also began working as a fundraising coordinator for Mama Cash, an international fund supporting women’s initiatives, going on to become director of the organisation from 1996 to 2001.
From 2001 to 2007 Mrs Ploumen worked for the development organisation Cordaid, first as head of quality and strategy and later as director of international programmes.
She was Chair of the Labour Party (PvdA) from October 2007 to January 2012.
On 5 November 2012 Lilianne Ploumen was appointed Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation in the Rutte-Asscher government.
Lilianne Ploumen previously held the position of Vice Chair of the Evert Vermeer Foundation, and was a member of the Labour Party’s South-North Committee (advising on international cooperation).
She has also been a board member of feminist organisation Opzij and Women Inc. and member of the Stop Aids Now! supervisory board.
She holds a Master’s Degrees in Social History (1988) and Strategic Marketing Management (1992).
Hans de Boer
President, VNO-NCW
Hans de Boer has been President of the business and employers’ organisation VNO-NCW since July 1st, 2014. De Boer (59) is a former entrepreneur and supervisory director, who also managed to garner the requisite experience as part of the (Hague) entrepreneurs’ lobby. He was Chairman of MKB-Nederland for the period 1997-2003. Hans De Boer was supervisory director and consultant to various organisations in the decade preceding his appointment in the VNO-NCW. Among others, he was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Sperwer Group (supermarkets) and ArboNed, supervisory director at Siemens Nederland and Greenport Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij (Greenport Development Company). As Chairman of the Youth Unemployment Task Force, he initiated the reintroduction of (technical) vocational schools/MTS (senior secondary technical schools) in the Netherlands, which has now grown to a chain of around 100 ‘Technical schools’. In the more distant past, Hans de Boer was founder and director-majority shareholder of the Bureau Economische Argumentatie (Economic Research and Policy Consulting), which he later sold to KPMG. As Chairman of VNO-NCW, he is vice-chairman of the SER (Dutch Social and Economic Council) and co-chairman of the Stichting van de Arbeid (Labour Foundation). Hans de Boer studied economics (specialising in Econometrics and Public Finance) at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is married and has two children.
Vipin Moharir

Vipin Moharir is an ‘Innovation Agent’ with over twenty years of managerial & consulting experience. He appears frequently in the media and regularly speaks at events.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences Engineering from Pune University, India & a Master in Business Administration from Maastricht, The Netherlands. Vipin worked in the USA & UK with Multinationals before deciding to undertake his own entrepreneurial adventure.
Vipin is a founding member & director of the Gateway NINtec Group Of Companies. The Group offers IT & Media/BPO services through its offices in 16 countries, with India as one of their production facilities. The Group demonstrates a unique debt-free, organic growth strategy in the past decade. The Group is poised to engage in major M&A activities in the near future to expand their global footprint.
Vipin has been a dedicated and active board member of the NICCT. In October 2014, he has been elected by the General Council as the Chairman Elect of the NICCT and will become the new Chairman after the General Council Meeting in 2015.
With the unique blend of Indian background combined with Dutch/International exposure, he has evolved into an entrepreneur at ‘heart and soul’. Vipin believes fervently that “There is no substitute for hard work”.
Jeroen Plag
Chairman, Dutch Trade & Investment Board Working Group India
Head Client Coverage Asia, Americas & UK, ING
Jeroen Plag was appointed as Chairman of the Working Group India of the Dutch Trade & Investment Board as of January 2015.
Within ING he is responsible for the three regions Asia, Americas & UK, for corporate client coverage, as well as the Asia Desk in Amsterdam. In his former role, Jeroen was responsible for overseeing business opportunities for our corporate clients business across CB’s network. Prior to this appointment, Jeroen served as Country Manager of ING Bank N.V. Seoul Korea. Before joining ING Bank Seoul in 2009, he was responsible for ING’s corporate and institutional client relationships in South East Asia; delivering the full range of ING’s banking and advisory products to meet the needs of our Commercial Banking clients. He also serves as Honorary Consul General for the Republic of South Korea in Amsterdam.
Jeroen Plag started working with ING in 1994 in the dealing room, both on the foreign exchange and interest rates trading and corporate sales side. After that he spent six years in corporate clients in both Amsterdam and New York, providing Global Clients with a broad range of corporate banking solutions. From 2004 to 2006 he acted as the Chief of Staff to the Executive Board member for Commercial Banking.
He holds a Bachelors of Economics from the HES in Rotterdam.
Sarbani Bhattacharya
Director financial services, KPMG Netherlands
Sarbani Bhattacharya worked for Unilever in several roles, having joined as a management trainee in India. An MBA by qualification, she is currently Director, financial services with KPMG Netherlands. She has a global client-facing role ensuring the effective positioning of KPMG’s services, seamless implementation, focused and coherent relationship management. In addition Sarbani is Head of the India Corridor as part of the KPMG global High growth markets initiative at KPMG Netherlands. She is a member of the Dutch Trade Board, India group, and is instrumental in facilitating cross border transactions and investments between India and the Netherlands.
She lives in the Netherlands with her husband and two boys while maintaining strong links with her homeland, India.
Dinesh Shahra
Founder and Managing Director, Ruchi Soya Industries Ltd.
Ruchi Soya Industries Limited is one of India’s largest FMCG companies and the largest manufacturer and marketer of edible oil and soya food products. Mr. Shahra along with his family has pioneered Soybean revolution in Indian subcontinent. Mr. Shahra was a member of Advisory Committee constituted by the Government of India for enhancing commodity futures and headed various national and International organizations including Soy Food Promotion & Welfare Association (SFPWA).
Mr. Shahra is recipient of several awards including Dun & Bradstreet’s ‘The No – 1 Food Processing Company in India’; and Solvent Extractors’ Association Award for contribution towards development of Indian Vegetable Oil Industry. He was honored as the Best CEO by Business World Magazine in 2010. Ruchi Soya has been featured in the Global Powers of Consumer Products 2015 report issued by Deloitte, showcasing the top 250 consumer products companies globally. Ruchi Soya ranks among the 50 fastest growing consumer companies globally and leads among the only two companies from India.
Educated as a Chemical Engineer, Mr. Shahra is committed to green energy and exploring suitable and sustainable opportunities in the sector. Government of India has recognized his efforts by bestowing best energy efficient manufacturing plants awards in the oil extraction sector to Ruchi Soya.
His deep commitment of giving back to society is also reflected in the CSR activities of Ruchi Soya which focuses on education, health and women’s empowerment.
Manish Patel
General Manager, INCOTEC India
Dr Manish Patel, General Manager of INCOTEC India, was recently elected onto the APSA Executive Committee. The elections took place during the Asian Seed Congress 2012 held in Bali, Indonesia on 5-9 September. The executive council is the managing body for the APSA and comprises 16 elected members each elected for a period of 3 years. Dr Manish Patel has been a member of the Governing Council of the National Seed Association of India (NSAI) for 6 years.
Chhitiz Kumar

Chhitiz Kumar has experience cutting across several industries and financial services. Over the last 2 decades, he has worked with Johnson & Johnson, GE Capital and Philips.
Currently as head of Philips Capital India, he is responsible for debt financing and equity investments for all the 3 businesses (Consumer Lifestyle, Lighting and Healthcare) of Philips in Indian Subcontinent. He also leads the Govt. Affairs and PPP function for Philips in Indian subcontinent.
In his previous role at GE Capital, Chhitiz played several roles of increasing responsibility and structured financing solutions across an array of sectors for Indian corporates & MNCs.
With his vast experience across industries and across functions, he brings in a holistic and balanced view to a business.
Chhitiz is an alumnus of IIM, Kolkata and B.Tech (Mining) from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. He is a certified “Independent Director” and also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. He is also on Advisory Board of SRM University, Chennai.
Aloke Gupta

Mr. Gupta is a very business result focused manager with an in depth knowledge of the entire value chain. Being highly creative he has been able to find valuable solutions in many different aspects of the business.
He has first hand experience and in depth knowledge of various markets Brazil and South America, Mexico, USA, W Europe, Russia, India and China. In these markets he has dealt with the teams to initiate and grow the TV business and deliver positive results. He was active through the value chain from manufacturing to retailing.
Mr. Gupta has over 30 years’ experience at Philips and currently overseeing operations for 3F Fuji Foods Pvt Ltd, a joint venture between a Japanese and Indian firm.
Suresh Onkardas Agrawal
Chairman and founder, Bejo Sheetal Seeds Pvt. Ltd.
Mr Suresh Onkardas Agrawal was born on 27th September 1944. Bejo Sheetal Seeds is one of the leading vegetable seeds company, engaged in research, production, marketing and exports of hybrid vegetable seeds.
Mr Suresh Agrawal has contributed for pioneering the development of vegetable seeds sector since 1967, at the age of 23. With great vision, for developing quality vegetable seeds for the farmers of India and SAARC countries, he made collaboration with leading international vegetable seed company, Bejo Zaden b.v. of Holland. This was the first joint venture in seed sector in India.
Major focus of Mr Suresh Agrawal has been research activities in tropical vegetable crops like tomato, chili, capsicum, okra, melons, gourds, egg plant and pumpkin. Specifically research pioneered in developing short day onion F1 hybrids, which is one of the major achievements of his career. For his contribution, he has been awarded with “Life Time Achievement award for Onion Development” by Directorate of Onion & Garlic Research. He has also received many other prestigious awards.
Mr Suresh Agrawal has built a strong team of more than 150 highly qualified and devoted agricultural scientists. The team has so far released 800 hybrids of tomato, chili, egg plant, tomato, onion, okra, gourds, watermelon, melon, etc. Among all the vegetable products, specially chili and onion hybrids contributed for high productivity in India.
TPS (True Potato Seeds) is another novel product developed by his team to grow potatoes from botanical seeds. TPS is sold in India and also exported to Africa and other countries.
Keeping pace with novel Agri-biotech applications, Mr Suresh Agrawal has developed wide network and has preferred to work hand-in-hand with National and International Institutes and Universities. Beginning was made with Indian Agriculture Research Institute, New Delhi in 2005 by licensing Bt. Eggplant event for insect resistance. Various Agri-biotech programs have been undertaken with the help of eminent scientists of global level Institutes.
Mr Suresh Agrawal has travelled abroad widely across many countries in Europe, Asia, America, Australia & Africa.
Mr Suresh Agrawal wishes to serve the society in all possible ways & as social corporate responsibility, he has established Bioscience Foundation, a no-profit organization, for research and international training programs in collaboration with Michigan State University, USA and Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri.
