NICCT New Year’s Reception


“India is a great nation. The Netherlands is a midsized, but, highly developed country. We all should get involved and come up with concrete actions on the initiatives Prime Minister Modi started.” – Mr. Hans de Boer, Chairman VNO-NCW.

Mr. de Boer set this positive tone at the NICCT’s New Year’s reception on Thursday January 28th in the Hague. The event was organised in cooperation with the Municipality of The Hague and featured other prominent speakers.

[su_spacer size=”10″] NICCT Chairman Mr. Vipin Moharir welcomed the audience with a brief look back at the tremendous progress made in the year past. He emphasized on various plans and the increasing activities of NICCT. He underlined that NICCT, together with its members, is a vibrant community and is set on entering a new period of growth from 2016 to 2020!

Mukul (Ambassador of India to the Netherlands), Mr. Hans de Boer (Chairman VNO-NCW) and Mrs. Sujata Banerjee (Management Across Cultures) also shared their visions . All speakers provided invaluable insights in today’s challenges and opportunities within the Netherlands – India business corridor, addressing the event theme “Critical Aspects to Consider in Your India Growth Strategy.”

The highlight of the evening was the special video message from Delhi, India. H.E. Mr. A. Stoelinga (Ambassador of The Netherlands to India). He was joined by Mr. Karsten Klein (Vice Mayor Urban Economy, Care and Ports & City Councilor Scheveningen, Municipality The Hague) and Mr. R. Ramlal (Advisor Trade Relations India), who addressed the audience wishing all a successful 2016.

Jet Airways’ direct flights from Netherlands to Mumbai and Delhi from March 27th onwards is great news for the India – Netherlands business corridor. A keynote on the recent developments of NICCT in India was given by Mr. Rajiv Mehra (Vice President NICCT India & Networking). Thanks to the hard work from a team led by Mr. Mehra the opening event of NICCT India will be at the Taj Santacruz in Mumbai on the 12th of February. The objective of NICCT India is to become active across India, providing similar services to its members both in India and in the Netherlands.

Another new initiative within NICCT was announced by Ms. Ritika Mehra (NICCT Youth) – who gave an inspiring and energetic speech, informing the audience about the ambitious plans of the NICCT Youth Chapter for the coming year.

The formal part of the New Year’s Reception was followed by a lively networking reception.
