Prof. Dr. Mrs. Marianne J. Franzen – Presdient – India Netherlands Business Circle Bangalore

With more than 30 years of experience in Change Management, in India as well as abroad, Marianne lives by the motto if we don’t change in time, time will change us. Currently, she is Head of International Consultancy and Corporate Affairs at Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bangalore India. Besides that, as a consultant in the corporate world and a visiting Professor in Business, Change and Society, her vision is to continually challenge, guide, and lead people towards embracing sustainable change in order to stay ahead of time. She believes that hidden talents must be uncovered, young leaders coached, and knowledge and experiences shared extensively to allow for continuous advancement and future growth. Supporting people and watching them attain greater heights at both a personal and professional front gives her immense satisfaction. Marianne believes that people should be stimulated to recall their dreams and encouraged to pursue them passionately as realizing one’s dreams invariably leads people forward in the right direction.

Staying ahead of times requires a questioning spirit and breaking through norms and regulations which have lost relevance. Cultural and behavioural patterns must be revived. Innovation encouraged and an atmosphere of healthy competition built. These are some of the rules by which the game of business is played today. In fact not only business but governments and countries must adopt this strategy as well. Marianne passionately guides organizations on how to break through redundant norms, stimulating them to create new paradigms, implementing new ‘rules’ into their business. She focuses on two aspects during a change process. Business and people. As per her, these are the two facets of the same coin and hence equally important.

Marianne has successfully enabled companies to transition through tough changes that positively impact ROI, lead time, cultural differences, mergers, leadership development etc. Companies like Air France KLM India, Philips CFT, IKEA South Asia, Litrogas Lanka Ltd. (Sri Lanka), Johnson & Johnson Corporate Citizenship Trust – Dubai, Technip KT India, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), World Health Organization (WHO) India, GE, Bisonkit Manufactory, Headquarters – The Netherlands are just a few big names that have benefitted from her vast experience and expertise.

Furthermore, she worked for the Dutch Ministry of Defense; Ministry of Economic Affairs; Ministry of Education, Culture and Science; Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport; Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management. The realization of implementation in collaboration with political leaders and professionals was the main topic. Marianne also played the role of board member in various industrial organizations and chairperson for the Dutch People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy on regional level. Marianne continues to lead organizations across sectors, ranging from retail, healthcare, oil and gas, finance, IT, manufacturing, education to steel.

Between May – October 2016, she had the role of Interim-President, at India Netherlands Business Association (INBA), New Delhi. In the year 2017-2018 she was Vice President of the Women International Club (WIC) Delhi. In 2017 she was Business Editor of the HR Magazine ‘People and Management’. Currently, she is President of the Indian Netherlands Business Circle in Bangalore focusing on building bridges between India and The Netherlands.

As a psychologist, an executive coach, a visionary, a board member, and a mother of two lovely daughters, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and experiences with the future generation of leaders, by coaching students of B-schools and Universities.
