The Make in India Initiative aims to achieve 70% indigenization in the Defence sector. Tamil Nadu is an industrially advanced state with highest numbers of factories in India. It is also the most urbanized state with 48% of the population based out of cities having world class Industrial Parks & SEZs. The Aerospace & Defence Policy 2019 provides the needed incentives and measures to develop a strong domestic capability in defence.
